Fairtrade

For 21 years Goddess clothes are made by the same Javanese family business in Bali

Goddess The Goddess collections are made by a Javanese family business in Bali consisting of the three brothers:
Sulhan Idris, Sofian Idris and Romli Idris,
their wives Nur, Yanti and their cousin Ronny.

Their close knitted community makes the production very personal.

Since 1993 Lies started working with Sulhan as one of his many clients consisting mostly of latinos...
Gradually other clients left to produce in cheaper places.

For the last 21 years Lies has stayed true to the company and invested machines and fabrics for the factory.

To make a nice garment for a good price is a great challenge when the overproduction of cheap fabrics and labour is abundant these days.

Goddess For this reason Goddess clothes can be named a pioneer in fairtrade and keeps this statement as a foundation of their work.

Most clothes are made of natural fibres available in Indonesia: cotton in woven and knitted variations, viscose woven and mixed with spandex for great stretchy fabric for tops.
The fabrics are mostly ordered directly from the producer and arrive in white bundles, then they are dyed in very nice deep colours.

Each season they produce around 30 models of basic yoga tops, dresses and pullovers, a wide choice of pants for both women and men.
A special collection for medieval style lovers and performers of all kind is also produced once a year.

Goddess clothes are a treat to move in freely, all clothes can be washed in the washing machine at 30 degrees C (no tumble drierer).
